The Head of the UNFPA Office in Kosovo, Dr. Visare Mujko-Nimani, was honored to participate in the International Symposium on Non-Communicable Diseases, a prestigious three-day event held in Pristina and organized by the Kosovo Ministry of Health and the National Institute of Public Health.

Dr. Mujko-Nimani's presentation was a pivotal moment at the symposium, focusing on the critical issue of gender sensitivity in service delivery, a key priority of UNFPA in its collaboration with healthcare professionals. Her insightful presentation delved into the concept of gender sensitivity, elucidating why it matters, how it can be effectively implemented, and how UNFPA is actively working in this direction.

A key takeaway from Dr. Mujko-Nimani's presentation emphasized, "Gender-responsive healthcare services aim and should provide equitable and inclusive care by recognizing and addressing the unique health needs and experiences of individuals based on their sex and gender identity."

The symposium was graced with the presence of distinguished figures, including Minister Arben Vitia, who shared their invaluable insights on addressing non-communicable diseases. Dr. Mujko-Nimani expressed her appreciation for the contributions of these influential figures and the engagement of both international and local professionals.

UNFPA extends its heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, the Kosovo Ministry of Health, and the National Institute of Public Health for the invitation and continued cooperation. The UNFPA remains committed to its mission of promoting gender-sensitive healthcare and ensuring equitable access to healthcare services for all individuals in Kosovo.
