Since the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic, UNFPA has projected that the on-going crisis could seriously curtail access to life-saving sexual and reproductive health services, including family planning. Additionally, lockdowns and economic disruptions are expected to greatly increase the incidence of gender-based violence.

UNFPA is collaborating with East European Institute for Reproductive Health and the networks Eurasian Women's Network on AIDS and European Network on Independent Living on a targeted survey to understand how the access to family planning services have been affected for women living with HIV, women and girls living with disabilities, and survivors of intimate partner violence.

The outcome of the survey will apply to the policies and programmes ensuring the continuity of SRH services during COVID-19, as well as the preparedness measures for the health emergencies in Kosovo and other EECA countries.
