UNFPA Kosovo Assistant Representative Visare Mujko Nimani met the Head of Islamic Community in Kosovo (ICK) Mr. Naim ef Tërnava.  The meeting aimed to discuss further collaboration between UNFPA and ICK. Mr. Tërnava thanked UNFPA for the excellent cooperation during 2014, especially in organizing roundtables with the main focus on prevention of gender based violence, and expressed his willingness for future collaboration. The roundtables were held in Prishtina, Gjilan, Gjakova, and Dragash, and the interest of religious communities was very high. In the other side, Ms. Mujko-Nimani emphasized the valuable role of the Islamic Community of Kosovo in prevention of gender-based violence, and thrilled that continues cooperation and contribution in this area is further on required. She also pointed out the readiness of UNFPA to expand the activities in other centres of Kosovo, therefore Mr. Tërnava vowed that the Islamic Community efforts will continue in preventing gender based violence. At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to coordinate together the activities planned for 2015.
