May 10, 2022 - Great event today in Pristina through which we launched the #UNFPA 2022 State of the World Population Report - Seeing the Unseen: the case for action in the neglected crisis of unintended pregnancy - and discussed its Kosovo dimensions with a focus on bodily autonomy and adolescent pregnancies, organized jointly with the Kosovo Obstetrics and Gynecology Association (KOGA).
Remarks included those by the Kosovo Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Dafina Gexha-Bunjaku, UNFPA Kosovo Director John Kennedy Mosoti, the President of KOGA Dr. Naser Rafuna and other KOGA representatives. UNFPA Head of Office presented the key findings of the 2022 report, whereas UNFPA Kosovo also presented the findings of our recently conducted youth survey, pointing to the level of knowledge and information high school students currently possess on #contraception and protection from unintended pregnancies.
A lot of good traction on the issue of unintended pregnancies in Kosovo, which we will follow up through engagements with the relevant institutions and stakeholders.
