calendar_today 20 May 2012

UNFPA office in Kosovo provided technical support to the Ministry of Health (MoH) through international expertise of Mihai Horga, MD, PhD, Senior Advisor, East European Institute for Reproductive Health.

Expertise was provided on policy dialogue on the concept of the quality of care, and development of clinical guidelines and protocols in this context. MoH’s programme on developing evidence based clinical guidelines and protocols, including sexual and reproductive health guidelines, was initiated in order to improve the quality of health services in Kosovo. This issue is regulated through the specific administrative order 12/2010.

On 17th May 2012, international expert Mr. Horga  facilitated the meeting of stakeholders with members of the Kosovo Council of Clinical Guidelines and Protocols (KCCGP); CGP Assessment Commission; CGP working group; Division for Quality at MoH, and representatives of health professional associations to further determine needs and priorities regarding the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.

On  18th May 2012, during the First Congress of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Association of Kosovo, Mr. Horga gave oral presentation on the Quality of Care (in general and in reproductive health field, clarifying the concept and the terminology) and within this broader context, to address the issue of guidelines and protocols.
