As Kosovo gears up for the 2020 round of the Population and Housing Census (PHC) set for spring 2024, UNFPA, in collaboration with Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) and Kosovo Disability Forum (KDF), is dedicated to championing inclusivity.

The PHC is a monumental survey, offering vital insights into the population and housing landscape of Kosovo. With the guiding principle of "Leave No One Behind" and the commitment to the "Nothing about us, without us" approach, we are focusing on the inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Stakeholder Consultation Meeting Objectives:

• Increase awareness about the importance of people with disabilities participating in the PHC.
• Provide comprehensive information on PHC methodology, questionnaires, and operations.
• Explain the rationale behind using the Washington Group Short Set of Functioning (WG-SS).
• Review challenges and lessons from the 2011 PHC, proposing practical solutions to enhance disability data in the upcoming PHC.
• Discuss the preparation of enumerators, manual, and questionnaires.

Ensuring accurate, timely, and disaggregated data on disability is crucial for tracking progress, identifying gaps, and evaluating the impact of development efforts. The PHC is a golden opportunity to collect data that can shape policies, services, and resources for a more inclusive and equitable society.

We believe in the power of collaboration! Together we can build a future where the rights and needs of people with disabilities are recognized and addressed.
