Youth Against Inequalities (YAI) is a project which aims to promote gender equitable norms through enhancing the capacities of young people – contemporary to that mobilize youth to engage in community development and civic life in the region of Dragash. With the support of UNFPA, NGO PEN has organized two Residential Trainings: with Albanian youth from June 18th – 21st, 2013 and with Gorani youth from August 23rd – 25th, 2013.

Residential Training themes include the following:
o Reasons and emotions
o Men’s body
o Males and contraception – sexual and Reproductive health – HIV/AIDS
o Fatherhood and care giving
o Understanding the cycle of violence
o Breaking the silence to get help
o Males and violence- steps towards change
o What do I do when I get angry?
o Decision-making and abuse of substances
o Negotiation skills
o Work and community participation

All the above mentioned topics were conducted in a friendly environment – mixed with games and role plays as explained on the Young Man Handbook. These trainings are designed to enhance profound analytical thoughts which can change and challenge youth perceptions on different life aspects including gender-based violence (GBV) and their efforts in addressing and prevention of GBV.
