On August 12th, UNFPA proudly celebrated International Youth Day with the theme “Youth Leadership for Safe and Inclusive Digital Spaces.” The event, held at Prishtina Mall, was a vibrant and engaging opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of creating secure and inclusive online environments for young people.
The UNFPA stand at Prishtina Mall was a hub of activity, buzzing with energy and enthusiasm. We focused on promoting the Bodyright campaign, a global UNFPA initiative designed to protect individuals’ rights in the digital world. This campaign is crucial in addressing the growing concern of digital violence, ensuring that every person can navigate the online space safely and with dignity.
Throughout the day, visitors were invited to participate in informative sessions that shed light on the various forms of digital violence and how to combat them. Interactive games provided a fun and educational way to engage with the topic, while educational materials like the Glossary of Gender-Based Violence through Technology were distributed to deepen understanding and awareness.
One of the event’s highlights was our photo booth, which allowed attendees to capture and share moments of support for a safer digital future. The photo booth was a hit, drawing in crowds eager to express their commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive online community.
